First book in "Vatta's War". Starts out fast paced, slows down a bit in the middle then warp speed at the end (no, wait, they don't even have a working engine!?). Very good starter for learning to know the main character, but not so much hinting on what will happen in the next few books. Several "main" characters in the later books have yet to turn up.
